To PURGE or not to PURGE that is the question!

The word “purge” strikes fear into the heart of so many. Maybe it is it’s association with the horror movie that’s been big in the last few years or maybe it’s the basic meaning of purge which by definition is to rid (someone) of an unwanted feeling, memory, or condition, typically giving a sense of cathartic release.
Whatever it is, whenever it proceeds the word wardrobe purge many women will flat out break out into hives! What about a wardrobe purge is so unsettling? Well to get down to the bottom of that let’s take a different approach. Let’s not spend the time talking about what a wardrobe purge–I don’t want to sound like a car salesman but rather let’s talk about what it isn’t.
A Wardrobe Purge does not…..I emphasize DOES NOT MEAN the following:
FALSE:  You’ll be traumatized by having to give all of your clothes away
FALSE: You will have to change your style choice completely
FALSE: Your clothing options everyday will be scarce
FALSE: You will have to create a boring wardrobe that looks like a uniform
FALSE: Your style options will be greatly limited
That all translates into the notion…… YOU WILL BE MORE FRUSTRATED GETTING DRESSED THAN YOU WERE BEFORE THE PURGE!
But trust me you have the wrong idea about wardrobe purging all together. I assure you it means none of the false claims. Let’s go back to the definition of purge. Notice that the result of purging yielded “cathartic release”. So the best part about purging is not focusing on the task but focusing on the outcome! There is a great outcome. I’ll explain more about that next……
