What are you doing to Pamper yourself on Valentine’s Day?

Valentine’s Day is the quintessential day of Love! People have been celebrating it for years. It’s a day lovers dote on each other, kid’s pass out cards attached with candy and everything oozes love and affection. I mean literally oozes it. Stores are overrun with huge displays of chocolate, candy and flowers.   Nothing wrong with the holiday. The celebration of love is a beautiful thing. Truth be told I wish love was celebrated with this intensity all year round. That would be a great norm.  But in the middle of all of that celebration don’t forget to love on and pamper one other person—–yourself. As women we’re NOTORIOUS at putting the needs of others before our own and even on a day such as Valentine’s day can get so caught up in doing for others (and even the stresses of the day)  that we overlook ourselves. Take some time out to pamper yourself. And Valentine’s day provides a great reason (not that you need one).  But we do need to be reminded to love ourselves! Here are some great personal pampering ideas you can squeeze into this sweet holiday. Remember, pampering yourself doesn’t always have to be a huge event. Just incorporating one or two relaxing practices this day and regularly will make you feel like royalty:

-A deluxe bubble bath complete with candles and a relaxing music playlist

-A free makeup application at your favorite mall kiosk and department store

-Treat yourself to your favorite candle, burn it in preparation for bedtime

-Get a deluxe mani and/or pedi

-Eat your favorite ice cream while snuggled in your favorite robe and cozy socks

-Grab some takeout and watch your fav movie or TV show episode

And the list goes on and on. You know what you like. Find a way to incorporate these sorts of things into your weekly routine. Carving out an hour or two for yourself inside the week (more would be great) will go a long way in keeping you youthful, fresh and renewed.  Pampering is a great de-stressor.
